A comforting breakfast casserole filled with eggs, sausage, and cheese, perfect for gatherings or busy mornings.
Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk (or alternative)
- 1 pound sausage (pork, turkey, or veggie)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese
- 4 cups cubed stale bread
- 1 cup chopped bell peppers
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until brown. Add chopped bell peppers and onions, cooking until soft.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
- Fold in the cubed bread and shredded cheese.
- Combine the sausage mixture with the egg mixture, stirring gently.
- Transfer to the greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Feel free to substitute different types of cheese or meats. Use stale bread for a creamier texture.
