Description

These delicious bites offer a healthier take on traditional churros, made easy with an air fryer for less oil and fewer calories.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut sugar, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Mix well until all dry ingredients blend together.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract until smooth and uniform.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a dough forms, ensuring everything combines completely.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Shape the dough into small bites, about the size of a marble, and place them in the air fryer basket, leaving space between bites.
  6. Spray lightly with cooking spray for a golden color.
  7. Cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown, checking to avoid overcooking.
  8. Allow the bites to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping. These bites can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or frozen for longer storage.
