Description
A hearty and comforting casserole with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and creamy soup, topped with cheese for a warm family meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in an even layer at the bottom of the dish.
- Add half of the cooked ground beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes followed by the remaining beef.
- In a bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup with milk and pour it over the layers.
- Add the melted butter and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 60 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
Serve with sour cream or fresh parsley. Pairs well with a green salad or garlic bread.
