Description

A hearty and comforting casserole with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and creamy soup, topped with cheese for a warm family meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in an even layer at the bottom of the dish.
  4. Add half of the cooked ground beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes followed by the remaining beef.
  6. In a bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup with milk and pour it over the layers.
  7. Add the melted butter and sprinkle cheese on top.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 60 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

Serve with sour cream or fresh parsley. Pairs well with a green salad or garlic bread.
