Description

Delightful lemon brownies combine the rich taste of traditional brownies with a refreshing lemon zing.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • For the glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar together until well combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, lemon zest, and lemon juice until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and lemon juice together until smooth.
  8. Once the brownies have cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top.
  9. Allow to set, cut into squares, and enjoy!
