A comforting and hearty casserole made with breakfast sausage, eggs, cheese, and optional vegetables, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of breakfast sausage
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 cups of shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 3 cups of bread cubes (optional)
- 1 cup of chopped vegetables (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the sausage, optional bread cubes, and vegetables. Pour the egg mixture over the top.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a variation, you can use ham or cooked bacon instead of sausage. Adding fresh herbs can enhance the flavor.
