Description

A delicious and comforting breakfast casserole combining savory sausage, crispy hash browns, and creamy eggs, perfect for any gathering or easy weekday meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 eggs
  • 1 pound pork sausage (or turkey/bacon)
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk or heavy cream
  • 30 oz bag frozen shredded hash browns (thawed)
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
  4. Layer the thawed hash browns in the greased baking pan, spreading them evenly.
  5. Add the cooked sausage on top of the hash browns, then sprinkle one cup of cheddar cheese over the sausage.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over all the layers, ensuring the egg covers everything.
  7. Cover the baking pan with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  9. Let the dish cool slightly before serving. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge. To reheat, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes or microwave for 1-2 minutes.
