A hearty breakfast casserole with sausage, hash browns, and cheese that is easy to prepare and perfect for busy mornings.
Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 1 lb turkey sausage
- 1 ½ cups whole milk or heavy cream
- 1 (30 oz) bag frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Set your oven to 375°F and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk (or cream), salt, pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
- Spread the thawed hash browns evenly in your baking dish. Top with cooked sausage and a layer of cheese. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 20 minutes until golden and set.
- Let cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy with hot sauce or chunky salsa for a little kick!
Notes
You can make this casserole ahead of time and bake it fresh in the morning. It pairs well with fresh fruit or a side salad.
