Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 4 cups diced bread (preferably day-old)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 2 cups cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or bacon
- 1 cup chopped vegetables (bell peppers, onions, spinach)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the bread, followed by the cooked sausage or bacon, vegetables, and cheese.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and toppings, ensuring everything is well soaked.
- Let it sit for about 15 minutes to soak if time allows.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is set.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
