Description

A hearty and comforting breakfast casserole loaded with eggs, sausage, cheese, and bread, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread, cubed
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: diced vegetables (bell peppers, onions, etc.)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Layer the cubed bread in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage and vegetables (if using) over the bread.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and sausage.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use day-old bread for better texture. Customize with your favorite ingredients or add leftover vegetables.
