Ingredients
- 1 loaf of bread, cubed
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup chopped vegetables (like bell peppers, onions, or spinach)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and optional ingredients like mustard and garlic powder.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread, cooked sausage, vegetables, and cheese.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake uncovered for 45-55 minutes or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
