Description

A 5-minute refrigerator-freezer smoothie blending fresh strawberries and frozen banana with Greek yogurt and milk for a creamy, sweet-tart breakfast. No heat required and enhances natural flavors with no artificial additives.

Ingredients

  • Fresh strawberries, 2 cups (60g), halved
  • Banana, 1 (118g), quartered and frozen x5 hours
  • Greek yogurt, ½ cup (120g)
  • Milk, ½ cup (118ml)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and halve strawberries. Peel and cut banana in fourths.
  2. Remove from freezer if frozen overnight.
  3. Verify blender is at room temperature.
  4. Avoid cold appliances to preserve ice texture when blending frozen items.
  5. Add strawberries, banana, yogurt, and milk to Vitamix-like blender.
  6. Start low (level 1) then gradually increase to level 4 for 15-20 seconds.

Notes

  • Freeze peeled banana in an airtight container for 5 hours.
  • Remove from storage 15 minutes before blending to avoid clumping.
  • For thicker consistency, reduce liquid by ¼ cup.
  • For softer texture, increase by 2 tbsp.
  • dd ½ tsp honey if strawberries taste tart or a ½ lemon zest for extra zest.
  • Use unsweetened oat or almond milk for a vegan alternative.
  • The yogurt provides superior protein without add-ins.
